KMTA members and Kentucky MTNA Collegiate Chapters are invited to submit proposals for the 2017 KMTA State Conference! The 2017 State Conference and Competitions will be held at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky November 3-6, 2017. Collaborative sessions, as well as presentations applicable to all instruments, are strongly encouraged. You may also recommend a colleague you feel would contribute an interesting and valuable session. We are particularly interested in creative and interactive presentations that reflect current research related to music pedagogy, professional development, performance and literature, wellness for musicians, community outreach, and more. All presenters must register for the KMTA Conference.
Conference Sessions should be 45-minutes in length and address topics related to the above list. KMTA members wishing to present should submit a proposal that adheres to the guidelines listed below.
Lightning Rounds are brief, 5 to 7-minute presentations that focus on a single topic, example, idea, project, or technique. They do not attempt to cover all aspects of their subject matter but present one facet of the idea clearly and succinctly. KMTA members wishing to present should submit a proposal that adheres to the guidelines listed below.
MTNA Collegiate Chapter Posters Presentations should showcase research, projects, outreach, or collegiate chapter activities. All posters should be no larger than 30″ x 40″ and should include all pertinent information in a manner that is visible from three to four feet away. Chapters wishing to present should submit a proposal that adheres to the guidelines listed below. Individual submissions are also permitted.
Session Proposals should include:
- Type of session proposed (Conference, Lightning, or MTNA Collegiate Chapter Poster)
- Title
- 100-word maximum session description
- 35-word session description for the program book
- List of needs for the session venue (multimedia, instrument, chairs/stands, etc.)
- Short bio of presenter(s) (200-word maximum)
- Recent headshot(s)
