Our own William Budai, NCTM, Professor of Piano at Campbellsville University, has contributed an article to the December/January issue of The American Music Teacher entitled “The Pedagogical Works of Ross Lee Finney“.
Ross Lee Finney made several significant contributions to the piano repertoiry, including three outstanding collections of pedagogical pieces: Inventions (1856, 1970), 32 Piano Games (1968), and Youth’s Companion (1980).
Bill’s article discusses Finney’s compositional style of “complimentarity” as well as the benefits of sharing these notable pieces with our students.
KMTA members Zachary Lopes and Louie Hehman made presentations for the 2020 MTNA Virtual Conference. Outstanding people like Dr. Lopes and Louie are demonstrating that Kentucky teachers have somethign to contribute to our national organization!
